Zaman Shah was hanged in the Central Jail in Sahiwal, Pakistan, after being convicted of killing his brother in law Sabir Shah in Okara on October 30, 1994. He had been sentenced to death by a Sessions court on November 26, 1995, and his sentence had been confirmed by the high court on 2 May 2001. The Supreme Court and the President of Pakistan had rejected his appeals on 22 April 2002 and 14 October 2003 respectively. In his will, Zaman Shah advised his relatives to not take revenge for his hanging as the victim's family had already suffered excessively at his hands.
