the Zambian Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of Lusaka resident Brian Phiri, 32, for murdering his aunt Dainess Banda in Chipata township. Phiri allegedly stabbed Banda on December 13, 2004. Deputy Chief Justice Ireen Mambilima and Justices Marvin Mwanamwambwa and Dennis Chirwa said Phiri was not drunk but sober and in full control of his actions.
