ZAMBIA: MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING

Judge Jane Kabuka of the Ndola High Court in Zambia sentenced George Alifa, 38, to death for murder. His two co-accused were acquitted. On January 6, 2008, the three men allegedly murdered Derrick Mwambe in Mpika and attempted to murder Mwitwa Muyambo. Alifa lured the two victims on the pretext that his employer would buy a gearbox from them.
