A drug trafficker was hanged for killing a member of the Islamic Basij militia forces in the northeastern border province of Khorassan, the afternoon Kayhan paper reported. It said the drug trafficker, only identified as Hossein, had recently shot dead Mehdi Assadian in the town of Torbat-e Heydarieh. The daily did not specify when the murder or the execution took place, but said the drug trafficker, who considered Assadian a "hindrance" to his work, lured him to a field and shot him.
