a man was sentenced to death following a road rage incident in Qatar in which he fired shots at another motorist causing him to fatally crash his car. The death penalty was pronounced by Judge Mamon Hamour. During the man’s trial, the court heard he had become incensed after being flashed to get out of the way on the approach to the Fort roundabout shortly before midnight on July 29. As the 21 year old victim tried to overtake, the 29-year-old killer deliberately blocked his path. The two drivers then wound down their windows to hurl insults at each other. As the victim headed towards the Rayyan area, he called his brother on his mobile phone and passed on the Range Rover’s details – just as a shot rang out. The court was told the murderer fired two more shots at the Land Cruiser, shattering a window and causing the vehicle to career off the road. The accused denied the murder charge throughout the trial, but admitted possessing an unlicensed weapon and ammunition.
