A Tehran revolutionary court sentenced to death three members of the same family, including a woman, for attempting to hijack an airliner to the United States, the official news agency IRNA said. No names were given, but the principal accused following the incident in November 2000 was named as Khaled Pardani.Three people were wounded, including two security guards and an air hostess, in the attempt to seize the chartered Yak-40 on a domestic flight from Ahwaz to Bandar Abbas in the south of the country, the court was told. The hijackers, who were said to be carrying firearms and knives, weretried in Bandar Abbas but sentenced in Tehran.
