An Afghan national, Shalif Alizehi, was executed after being found guilty of robbery, rape and drug trafficking. Alizehi was convicted into breaking into a residence in Birjand, east Iran, with three accomplices, tying up the father, beating the wife and raping the couple's sixteen-year-old daughter. He was later arrested in Tehran in possession of a sizeable mount of opium.
