an Iranian man convicted of murder has been hanged in southern Kerman province, in Iran press reports said. The man, Ali Pourmohiabadi, was hanged at the crime scene in the town of Mohiabad. According to a local judge he had burnt the body of his victim, Hossein Iranmanesh, and hurled it into a well in 2001. The murderer who was also convicted of robbery and adultery had been flogged before execution. The execution brings to 31 the number of people executed in Iran so far in 2006, according to an AFP tally based on press reports and witnesses.
