An Iranian man convicted of armed robbery was hanged in public in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahwaz, the official news agency IRNA reported.
The man, identified only as Mohsen Sh., had been convicted of attacking a shop with two accomplices. After injuring the shop-owner, the robbers fled while firing on police officers.
The two accomplices, identified as Peyman B. and Shahin R., were also convicted of armed robbery but sentenced to have both their right hands and left feet amputated.
