An Iranian man found guilty of kidnapping and rape was publicly hanged in the central holy city of Qom, the Abrar newspaper reported.
The condemned man, identified as 21-year Ali Eskandari, was executed for "two kidnappings and acts contrary to good custom", a euphemism for rape.
His execution brought to 26 the number reported by the press since the beginning of October, amid the setting up of a dialogue on human rights between the European Union and Iran.
Iran has said it is open to such dialogue, but insists executions for offences such as murder, rape, apostasy and drug trafficking are in line with Islamic law and therefore not negotiable.
