BANGLADESH: 6 SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR 1971 WAR CRIMES IN GAIBANDHA
A Dhaka court convicted six alleged war criminals, including former Gaibandha lawmaker Abu Saleh Muhammad AbdulAziz Miah alias Ghoramara Aziz, and sentenced them to death for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.

A three-member ICT bench, led by Judge Md Shahinur Islam, pronounced the verdict.
Earlier on October 23, the tribunal concluded the hearing of arguments from both sides and kept the verdict pending for any day.
The six accused are Jamaat's ex-MP Abu Saleh Md Abdul Aziz Mia, Ruhul Amin alias Manju, Abu Muslim Md Ali, Abdul Latif, Najmul Huda and Abdur Rahim Mia. Latif is now in jail while the others are absconding.
