CHINA. MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR RUNNING CART INTO WORKERS

a man was sentenced to death in Yiwu in China’s Zhejiang Province for intentionally ramming his tipcart into a crowd, killing three and injuring nine. Wu Guangde was unhappy that he was offered no compensation for use of open space near his home for highway construction work, court officials said. On August 9, he drove his tipcart into a crowd of more than 20 government workers who were supervising relocation of residents at the construction site.
