Five men convicted of drug smuggling and murder were publicly hanged in the southern Iranian city of Bam, the Jomhuri Eslami newspaper reported. The report, quoting a statement from Kerman province judiciary, only identified the five as Mohammad, Navab, Omid, Norouz and Vali. It said a revolutionary court had also convicted them of acting against national security and intimidation. No further information was given.
