Amnesty International warned of the imminent execution of juvenile offender Abumoslem Sohrabi, now 24, from Firouzabad, in Fars Province in Iran. His execution order was passed to the Office for the Implementation of Sentences. Sohrabi was convicted of a murdering a 25 year old man, Amin, in December 2001, in an act of self-defence. He was 17 at the time. Sohrabi said that Amin raped him on numerous occasions and was harassing him. Sohrabi was tried by Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court in Firouzabad. However, in a letter to the Supreme Court, the judge retracted his ruling because he was a rape victim acting in self-defence. In July 2008, Branch 33 of the Supreme Court in Tehran upheld the death sentence.
