IRAN. CONVICTED RAPIST HANGED PUBLICLY

Rahmatollah Ghanbarzehi Gorgich, an Iranian man convicted of raping a female student, was hanged in public in the southeastern city of Zahedan, in the Sistan-Baluchestan province.
Gorgich, 20, had been convicted of raping a university student he had picked up at a bus terminal in September 2004. It was reported that the execution was carried out at the same place.
