IRAN: DEATH PENALTY, BUT NOT ONLY

An Iranian highest court approved the sentence of a young man to have his eyes gouged and his right ear and nose cut off, state-run daily Shraq reported. The man, identified by his first name Jamshid, was convicted in October 2013 of deliberately pouring acid on the face of a girl named Shirin causing her to lose eyesight and right ear.
On the same day, the Iranian regime's State Security Forces paraded a man in the streets of Pishva “as punishment, and to demonstrate the toughness of police and the judiciary." The commander of police, Colonel Adinehvand, told Mehr news agency that “the evil person had disrupted the public order in the town.” "The Public Security Plan is always on the police agenda", he said. Based on the plan, every year hundreds of thousands of people are arrested many for wearing “improper dress.” The State Security Forces regularly parades in the street those arrested on the charges of being a “thug” or “those disrupting the public order.”
On 19 February 2014, the state-run Mehr, a news agency affiliated with the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), stated that another prisoner had been condemned to the barbaric punishment of “cutting off one hand and one foot.”
