Ayoub Porkar, 46, was sentenced to death for supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran. His sentence was announced by Pour-Abbasi in a “closed-door trial” which excluded lawyers and Porkar’s right to defend himself. Supporters say Porkar was tortured and is being held in solitary confinement Evin prison in Tehran.
He has now been transferred to solitary confinement in Ward 350 of Evin.
