Hands off Cain published monthly summaries for Hengaw, which reports 74 executions in January, and Iran HRM, which reports 88. For HoC, executions for the month of January totalled 80. Unfortunately, Iran HRM does not publish individual executions, so HoC cannot make the appropriate verifications. Both Hengaw (84%) and Iran HRM (82%) believe that more than 80% of executions are not published by Iran's internal media. They also report that for the past several months executions have been having a very sharp increase over previous years in an attempt to control, through terror, a society increasingly contentious with the regime.
