December 6, 2023 - Khaled Rouhi (Roohi) and Sirus Heydari (Sirous Heidari) executed in Sanandaj on December 6. According to reports obtained by Hengaw, at dawn on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the death sentence of two Kurdish prisoners, Khaled Rouhi, hailing from the village of Cham So in Sanandaj, and Sirus Heydari, a 60-year-old resident of Sanandaj, was executed in Sanandaj Central Prison.
Heydari had been arrested 12 years ago, while Rouhi was detained four years ago. Both were charged with murder.
On Monday, December 4, 2023, these prisoners were transferred from the general ward of Sanandaj Central Prison to solitary confinement in preparation for the execution.
As of the time of compiling this report, the news of the execution of these prisoners has not been officially announced in government media.
