Majid Rigi executed in Zahedan Central Prison on January 9.
According to Iran Human Rights, a male prisoner was executed on the morning of Saturday, January 9, in Zahedan Central Prison. His identity has been established as 37-year-old Majid Rigi, who had been sentenced to death on “drug-related” charges. According to the Baluch Activists Campaign which first published news of his execution, Majid Rigi had spent ten years behind bars on the drug charges. It should be noted that ten Baluch citizens have been executed in Iran over the past fortnight. At the time of writing, Majid Rigi’s execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
