The death sentence of a Turkish female prisoner identified as Mina Nasirpour was carried out in Tabriz Central Prison. According to information received by Hengaw, the execution was carried out at dawn on February 16, 2026. Mina Nasirpour, approximately 40 years old and originally from Ardabil, had been arrested about two years ago along with her husband, Hassan Sheikh-Hosseini, on drug-related charges, and both were sentenced to death in the same case.
Hengaw has learned that Hassan Sheikh-Hosseini, 47, was executed in the same prison on December 1, 2025.
Neither her execution nor that of her husband has been officially announced by state media.
