IRAN: TWO MEN HANGED IN PUBLIC IN BORAZJAN AND SARI

between 23 and 24 August 2014, two prisoners were hanged in public in two different Iranian cities.
On 23 August, an alleged murderer prisoner was executed in Borazjan, said the public prosecutor of the city in southern Iran.
On 24 August, a man identified only as Soheil R. was put to death in the city of Sari with the presence of the province capital’s prosecutor, reported the state-run FARS news agency. Iranian media published a number of pictures of this execution. He was convicted of killing his brother and a cousin and later his wife during a conjugal visit in prison, according to the League for the Defence of Human Rights in Iran (LDDHI).
