IRAN: TWO PRISONERS HANGED IN SANANDAJ, MASHHAD

two prisoners have been hanged in Iran, Hrana reported. The death sentence of a prisoner by the name of Farhad Yousefi from the town of Kamiyaran was carried out on April 30 in Sanandaj Central Prison. This individual was in prison on murder charges and had been sent to the gallows once before but not executed.
A prisoner charged with kidnapping and possessing narcotics was hanged in mid-April in the Mashhad Prison courtyard.
“The suspect, known as ‘Morghi’, was wanted in 2008 for kidnapping in Mashhad’s Seyedi district, and some time later he was identified and arrested by the police in his hideout. The death sentence was issued in Branch 2 of the Mashhad revolution court, approved by the country’s Supreme Court and carried out in mid-April of this year,” said deputy public prosecutor of Mashhad’s 9th district to the state-run Khorasan daily reporter.
