IRAN: TWO PUBLIC HANGINGS

between 19 and 21 August 2014, two men were hanged in public in two Iranian cities.
On 19 August, one prisoner was hanged in the Motaheri Square of Khoi, reported the news website Uromnews. The prisoner, who was not identified by name, was charged with rape, said the report.
On 21 August, another man was executed in the city of Qazvin. He was identified as A. N. and was convicted of murdering his 9-year-old stepchild, reported the state run news agency Mehr.
