Iran's supreme court approved the death sentence for three customs officials accused of being "economic terrorists," the afternoon Kayhan paper reported.
It said Samad Eftekhari, Mahmoud Jalehdoust and Abdolrahim Moallem, charged with checking carpets at Tehran's international Mehrabad airport, have been sentenced to death.
All of the defendants were accused of having each received 1.2 million dollars for providing "false expertise" on carpets.
The sentences were handed down after the recent execution of a colleague of theirs, Mohammad-Taqi Amini, who was hung on similar charges.
