Iran’s Supreme Court has upheld the death sentences

Iran’s Supreme Court has upheld the death sentences of four individuals convicted of involvement in a $2.6 billion financial fraud case, the office of the national prosecutor general announced. According to Iran’s Supreme Court, the four convicts who have been sentenced to death have also been ordered to pay fines. In addition, the manager of the Kish branch of Bank Melli Iran has received life imprisonment and has been ordered to pay fines.  And two former deputy ministers and two managing directors at the Transport Ministry have been dismissed from their posts and have been sentenced to ten years in prison and lashes. They have also been ordered to pay fines and return the assets acquired through the fraud.
