Three men were sent to the gallows by the High Court in the Malaysian state of Penang for trafficking 228g of drugs at Alma, Bukit Mertajam, on April 27 last year.
The trio - coffee shop owner Khor Soon Lee, 38, unemployed Tiow Chin Hee, 49, and shop owner Tan Hun Wah - were found guilty of trafficking 212.5g of heroin and 16g of monocetylmorphine at the car park of a hypermarket.
In his decision, Judicial Commissioner Mohd Amin Firdaus Abdullah said all three accused were proven to have had a common intention to traffic the drugs.
He said the trio had failed to cast reasonable doubt over the the case, saying it was a false defence by the accused.
"The court rules that the versions of the three accused are inherently improbable," he said in the court proceedings.
The three men were represented by counsels Lina Hanini and Lee Nai Chiang while DPPs Charanjit Singh and Shakila Banu Shaik Allaudeen prosecuted.
