Mohamed Slimani, Ahmed Rabhi and Abdelkader Bouabdellah were condemned to death by the criminal court at Tizi Ouzou [100 km east of Algiers]. The death sentences were handed down in absentia on the three terrorists. They were found guilty of belonging to an armed terrorist group, and of murder, ambush and arson. Two of the accused had been involved in the bogus roadblock set up by a terrorist group on December 13, 1998 on the main road to Draa El Mizan.
