Passing judgment in a murder-cum-robbery case Anti Terrorist Court Judge Ch. Muhammad Ikram gave the death penalty on two counts, life imprisonment, 13 years rigorous imprisonment, Rs.160,000 fine to each of the two accused Shahid Abbas and Nasir alia Nasri.
The two accused have also been ordered to pay Rs.100,000-each as compensation money to the heirs of the murder victim.
The third accused in the case, Tajamal, is absconding and the trial against him shall be held separately on his arrest. According to the prosecution the three accused stopped a car near Chak No.504/G.B. by opening fire on its bonnet on 17th December 2000.
Later they pulled five persons, Latif, Abdul Rashid, Sarwar, Sana Ullah and Mazhar Hussain out of the car, took their cash and valuables and, on resistance, opened fire, which resulted in death of Sarwar and serious injuries to Abdur Rashid.
