Several protesters were arrested by the Islamic regime's forces during the public executions which took place on September 29 in two different areas of the Iranian capital, the Student Movement Co-Ordination Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI) said. The most violent clash happened during the execution which took place in the northern suburb of Lavizan.
The arrested were objecting to the official mass murders which resulted in the hanging of five young men accused of rape by shouting slogans against the regime and throwing incendiary devices against the security forces, the SMCCDI Information Committee said.
Friends and family members, present during the executions, declared that the motive was political and that 3 of the young men were, in reality, arrested for armed attack against the regime's forces.
The SMCCDI Information Committee said this was partly confirmed by an "Associated Press" (AP) report stating hand made grenades were used by the protesters during the execution. The SMCCDI statement said it rejected the baseless claim of the Islamic regime's official news agency and the pro-cleric propaganda carried by Reuters and BBC which tried to portray an act of justice agreed and supported by the Iranian people.
