Some 100 Iranian protestors staged mock executions outside a meeting of EU foreign ministers, to protest an EU decision to launch trade talks with Tehran. "Don't deal with the Mullahs," said one banner brandished by the demonstrators, who also staged fake stonings just across from the Council building where the ministers were meeting. The European Union will on December 12 kick off what will be the most ambitious Western effort yet to engage Islamic Iran, with discussions on increased trade linked to thorny political issues.
