Steve Edward Roach, 23, white, was put to death by lethal injection in Greensville Correctional Center. He was pronounced dead at 21:04. He had been convicted of killing a white neighbour during a break in he committed at the age of 17. He was the second person to be executed in the State during the year, the 75th since the State resumed executions in 1982. He was the sixth to be executed in the U.S. during the year and No 604 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
