The former vice-mayor of Shenyang in China's northeastern province of Liaoning and the city's former deputy finance chief were executed for corruption and embezzlement, official media reported.
Former vice-mayor Ma Xiangdong and former deputy finance chief Guo Jiusi were executed after being found guilty by the Supreme People's Court of misusing 24 million yuan of public funds, Chinese Central Television reported. Fourteen local officials received minor sentences.
