The head of the Fars Province judiciary, Hoseyn'ali Amiri, told IRNA news agency that Fereydun Gorji, Mohammadyar Zohurirad and Zarqam Kazemi, three members of an armed band, had been sentenced to death by a Shiraz revolutionary court's judge earlier in the day. Hoseyn'ali Amiri added that the armed bandits were arrested during an armed struggle with the Islamic Republic of Iran's Police forces (IRIP) in Autumn 2000. "They were found guilty of participation in several armed robberies and creating panic for large crowds of people in several occasions," said the provincial top judge. The accused are to be executed publicly in accordance with judge Hoseyni's verdict.
