The Lesotho People's Congress (LPC) member for Butha-Buthe, Pitikoe Mohasoane angrily suggested that people found guilty of women and child abuse should be hanged without any mercy.
"Rape, especially of young girls is abhorrent in the eyes of mankind and God. I do not condone rape at all costs," he added.
Echoing Mohasoane's sentiments, the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) MP for Mpharane, N.C. Ramakatsa called for the death penalty to be restored and applied effectively to deter potential abusers of women and children.
The rate and frequency of women and children abuse in Lesotho has reached alarming proportions and is likely to become uncontrollable.
