The overwhelming majority of the Iranian people will boycott the mullahs' election farce, Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said in a statement. He said none of the feuding factions ruling Iran has the least legitimacy, all of them being usurpers of the Iranian people's right to sovereignty.
"The people of Iran have seen with their own eyes in the past four years that there is no difference between Khatami and Khamene'i in practice and when it comes to opposing people's demands," Rajavi added.
"900 officially-announced executions and 16 cases of stoning to death, continuing implementation of inhuman punishments such as amputation and gouging out of eyes, 70 terrorist operations abroad, the deployment of weapons of mass destruction and the firing of 77 surface-to-surface missiles at Iranian Resistance camps in Iraq, and the plunder of the national wealth of the Iranian people are only a small part of the clerical regime's atrocious record during Khatami's presidency," Rajavi said.
