The prosecution in the specialized chamber of Gitarama Court of First Instance asked for the death penalty for a priest, Joseph Ndagijimana of Byimana in Mukingi Commune of Gitarama Prefecture

The prosecution in the specialized chamber of Gitarama Court of First Instance asked for the death penalty for a priest, Joseph Ndagijimana of Byimana in Mukingi Commune of Gitarama Prefecture. The priest, together with sixteen other people was charged with genocide and other crimes against humanity. The prosecution also sought the death penalty for several other clergyman including: Francois Musi, Jean Rutayisire, Francois Rugamba and Ladislas Rurinda. All of the accused denied the charges.
