Thirty people, including lawyers and separatist leaders, were taken into preventive custody as violent demonstrations marked day-long demonstrations staged by the Kashmir Bar Association to protest the death sentence issued to the Parliament attack case convicts on December 18. Following the arrests, there were violent clashes between police and demonstrators. Peaceful demonstrations were held for at Baramulla, Sopore, Rajouri Kadal and adjoining areas in downtown Srinagar.
