Three Indonesian domestic workers facing the death penalty in Singapore were saved from the gallows thanks to a long legal struggle conducted by the Indonesian embassy. "The three Indonesian women who worked as housemaids were previously threatened with death by hanging but they will now only be jailed for eight years for murder," Indonesian Embassy officer Renvyannis Gazali said. The three Indonesian workers, identified as Sumiyem (22), Sukarsih Dulkolik (23) and Dwi AS (20), had been found guilty of murder by a Singapore court of justice.
