Three Iranian armed robbers were hanged, two on February 24 in the south-western city of Ahwaz, and one in Tehran on February 16, Iranian newspapers reported.
The robbers, who were not identified, broke into jewellery shops in the respective cities, shooting the owner and a policeman in Ahwaz and the owner in Tehran.
The Islamic republic's laws call for the death sentence for murder, armed robbery, rape, blasphemy and heavy drug trafficking.
