three people were publicly hanged for drug trafficking in a square in the central city of Qom, Iran, and another two in the eastern city of Zahedan, state media reported. The three men hanged in the clerical city of Qom are: Safar AL Nazari, 36, from Hamedan,  Sohbat'ollah Maleki, 39, from the town of Tafresh, and Habib Oliaee, 46, from Ghoochan. They were convicted, by Qom's Islamic revolutionary court, of smuggling amounts of up to 590gs of heroin, according to the official IRNA news agency. State media said the two convicts hanged in Zahedan, Abdul Qayyum and an unidentified man, were found guilty of transporting 5.25 kgs of heroin.
