a government official and his two accomplices were sentenced to death in China for murder, Chinese press reports said. Wu Guihua, a parliament member in southwest China's Sichuan province, and two accomplices were sentenced to death for arranging a hit man to murder the manager of a factory they were trying to take over, the Beijing News said. The three were convicted by a Sichuan court for their parts in the 2001 murder of Lu Wenqing, who had led workers at his state-owned Yibing factory to oppose the takeover plan, the report said. According to the Huaxi Metropolitan Daily, the crime was not solved until one of the hit men was arrested in May and identified Wu.
