the High Court in Arua, Uganda, sentenced three people to death for separate crimes. Yasin Funi was convicted of killing his 70-year-old grandmother on December 9, 2002, at Ogayi village in Arua district by kicking her on the chest three times after a quarrel.
Martin Onzima was convicted of killing his wife Grace Ozelle on October 19, 2002. Onzima beat Ozelle with a nail-studded club. Ozelle, who bled to death, also suffered a fractured jaw and a broken arm.
Jino Andama was sentenced to death for aggravated robbery.
Andama committed the offence on October 19, 2003 at Riki trading centre in Arua district.
