The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit reversed a decision of an Arizona federal district court that had overturned the death sentence imposed by a trial judge on German national Michael Apelt in 1990. He was found guilty of the Dec. 23, 1988 killing of Cindy Monkmank, 30, just married to Michael, in order to cash her 400.000 dollars life insurance.
