USA - Delaware. The Delaware Supreme Court has overturned the death sentence of Chauncey Starling
1 MIN READ
The Delaware Supreme Court has overturned the death sentence and ordered a retrial for Chauncey Starling because of ineffective legal representation. Starling, 41, Black, was found guilty and sentenced to death on June 10, 2004 in the March 9, 2001 killings of Darnell Evans, 28, and Damon J. Gist, a 5-year-old boy. The court found that "mistakes were made that undermine confidence in the fairness of the trial". (See also November 4, 2003 and October 12, 2005).
