Circuit Judge David Eddy formally sentenced Michael Bargo to death. Bargo, 21, becomes the youngest of 404 inmates currently on Florida's death row. A Marion County jury recommended 10 to 2 death for Bargo on August 27 (see). Bargo was convicted of 1st-degree murder in the April 17, 2011 slaying of 15-year-old Seath Jackson. Prosecutors called it a cold, calculated and premeditated murder that was prompted by a dispute over a girl. In a different trial, codefendants Amber Wright, 17; Kyle Hooper, 19; Charlie Kay Ely, 21; and Justin Soto, 22, were sent to prison for the rest of their lives. The state sought the death penalty for Bargo, the triggerman and mastermind behind the murder plot.
