Gabriel Solache and Arturo Reyes, who were exonerated on December 21, 2017 after twenty years of wrongful imprisonment, were immediately seized by agents of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). According to the Chicago Tribune they remain in custody “pending disposition of their immigration cases,” an ICE spokesperson told Buzzfeed. Solache and Reyes, who are Mexican citizens, could now face deportation.
