Xia Longhua and Zhao Guangkai were sentenced to death by the Shanghai Municipal Number Two Intermediate People's Court. According to the prosecution Xia, from Shanghai, bought 1 kg of heroin from Zhao in Yunnan, in September 1999, and smuggled it to Shanghai for sale. In January 2000, Xia bought another 2.5 kg of heroin from Zhao.
