A 13-year-old boy was charged in the Magistrate's Court in Kuala Lumpur with murder of an 11-year-old girl at her house in Taman Seri Rampai in Wangsa Maju

A 13-year-old boy was charged in the Magistrate's Court in Kuala Lumpur with murder of an 11-year-old girl at her house in Taman Seri Rampai in Wangsa Maju.No plea was recorded from the Form One schoolboy. He is charged with causing the death of Standard Five schoolgirl Liew Mei Fong by stabbing her on her back with a sharp object on May 30.
The boy, arrested on the same day, is charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence on conviction. Earlier, defence counsel K. Balaguru asked that his client be remanded to the Sungai Buloh prison where there is a special section for juveniles.
Magistrate Rosli Ahmad fixed July 8 for mention. Rosli ordered the boy to be sent to Kajang prison and instructed the defence counsel to apply to the prisons director for the boy to be transferred to the Sungai Buloh prison.
