A Nigerian national, Everest Uka, was sentenced to death by hanging after a Malaysian court convicted him of trafficking 583.98 grammes of heroin on March 12, 1996.
The Nigerian, 40, had entered the country using the forged passport of another African national.
Looking confused, Uka, who was charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act, nodded when asked by the Shah Alam High Court interpreter if he understood.
